NameDresden
General informationWhether "Elbflorenz" or "the pearl of Saxony" - life in Dresden is as great as its many descriptions. Dresden is mostly famous for the beauty of its baroque architecture. In addition to this, the surroundings, e.g. Saechsische Schweiz, offer a wide range of leisure activities such as cycling, water-sports and flying. The people are sociable and friendly. Besides sport and leisure, art is the most important aspect of life in this city: there are endless cultural events to entertain and educate those who are interested. A stay in Dresden would certainly be a varied and special experience.
Studying conditionsThe University of Dresden is regarded as having the most important potential for innovation in the city, offering its increasing number of students interesting teaching and living conditions. The University curriculum includes engineering, teacher-training, business economics, the humanities and, of course, natural sciences. Since the reunification of Germany, arts, social sciences ,economics and medicine have been added to the traditional natural sciences and engineering. As a result of this, the Technical University of Dresden has a scientific spectrum in research and teaching which can only be found to such an extent in a few Universities in Germany today.
