| Studying conditions | Having been located in Ingolstadt and Landshut, the first Bavarian university moved to Munich in 1826. Students entered the main university buildings in 1840. Nowadays the Ludwig-Maximilian University comprises of many different faculties which are scattered around the city. The University of Munich is one of the largest in Germany, with around 100,000 students. It also enjoys an excellent world-wide reputation.
