| General information | Freiburg is well-known as the "Gate to the Black Forest" and is located in the so-called "Three-country-corner" in the South of Germany. Being so near to France and Switzerland, this town has a unique and multi-cultural character. One of the main attractions in Freiburg is the Old Town with its world-famous cathedral. The town is also known as a "typical university town" with about 25,000 students.
