| General information | Regensburg is located by the River Danube in the north of Bavaria. One can very quickly feel at home in this city with its beautiful Old Town full of restored half-timbered houses and narrow streets. | Studying conditions | The first attempt to establish a university in Regensburg was as long ago as 1487. After a long struggle and much effort, the University of Regensburg was established in 1962 with great help of the Regensburg University Association (1948). Th foundation stone for the first university building was laid on November 20th, 1965. The university opened its doors for the winter term 1967/68 with three faculties. Nowadays, this has expanded to twelve. The dentistry faculty has the latest in technology and offers the best-possible educational standard. |
