| Name | Greifswald |
| General information | Greifswald is a beautiful town by the Baltic Sea in the North Eastern part of Germany with about 60,000 inhabitants. The town is famous for the picturesque fishing-village called Wieck, which boasts a one hundred year old wooden bridge. Famous painters like Caspar David Friedrich have been greatly inspired by the scenic countryside surrounding Greifswald and have immortalised their impressions in atmospheric paintings. Water sports are particularly popular pastimes in this area. The best time to stay in Greifswald is between May and July. |
| Studying conditions | The university of Greifswald is one of the oldest in Germany, founded in 1456. It is also the smallest in the country with only 5,000 students, which means a closer professor/student relationship. You will not find any crowded lecture halls here and this enables a very practical and almost personal education. Foreign students are frequently forbidden to do practical work. However, it is still worthwhile to stay here because there is much more to be learned from working closely together than just the insight into dental studies |
