Studying conditionsThe universtiy of Giessen - "Ludoviciana" - "Ludwigs-University" and since the 2nd World War "Justus-Liebig University" - is one of the oldest schools in the German speaking countries. Comprising about 21,000 students, it is one of Germany's larger universities and has a wide range of courses. The dentistry faculty has a large teaching spectrum: in addition to the classic disciplines of tooth preservation, dental prosthesis, orthodontics, dental, oral and facial surgery, the course also puts emphasis on child dentistry, periodontology, preparatory prosthesis and experimental dentistry. 30 students are accepted in the summer and winter term and educated in 10 terms. The average duration of studies of those dentists certified in Giessen is at 11 terms and, with the help of a recommended course of study, a very high standard is certainly guaranteed.
