| General information | The town of Tuebingen is located by the river Neckar, about 40 km south of Stuttgart. One can enjoy wonderful day trips and hikes to the nearby Black Forest. This old university town has about 86,000 inhabitants, of which about 25,000 are students. As a result, Tuebingen has a strong university atmosphere and offers everything a student's heart can desire. The town itself has a beautiful and romantic centre, which is one of the main attractions for every tourist visiting Germany. Numerous artists, poets and scientists have lived and worked in Tuebingen. For those who want to relax, have fun or simply forget everyday stress, there are plenty of pubs, discos and an excellent nightlife. |
| Studying conditions | Eberhard im Bart, the count and late Duke of Wuerttemberg, set standards in 1477, as the university was established, which are still upheld today. The Eberhard - Karls-University has a strong influence on the region and its development is certainly encouraged by the university's internationally recognised, scientific achievements. Many great people have studied or taught here. There are about 400 dental students in Tuebingen , 40 per term. We would recommend young dental students to stay here in the months July till September |
